Creating and Editing TemplatesTo modify the choice of templates available for a site:
Make sure you are in Designer Mode.
Choose View » Templates or click on the Templates tool in the toolbar:
TemplatesThe Templates dialog will appear. In this dialog, template families are represented by folders. Underneath each folder is the list of templates in that family. Most sites only have one template family. You might use multiple template families if you want your site to be published using several different appearances. See Using Template Families.
To add a template:
Click on the New Template button.
Provide a name for the new template.
If the template is intended to produce a file with any extension other than .html, enter that extension here. (For example, if this template produces an XML file instead of an HTML file, you can enter .xml).
Click OK.
To edit a template:
Select the template.
Click on the small arrow to the right of the Edit button or right click on the template name.
Choose from the list of available editors:
Edit in Normal View will use CityDesk's built-in WYSIWYG word processor for editing the template. Edit in HTML View will use a simple text editor suitable for editing the HTML source of the template. The other items in the list represent all editors that you have configured in your operating system for working on HTML files or files with the extension of this template. For example, if you have Macromedia Dreamweaver installed as an HTML editor, it will appear on the list. See Working With External Editors.To delete a template:
Select the template and click on the Delete button.
To change a template's name or file extension:
Select the template and click on the Properties button. SeeTemplate Properties.
