CityDesk 2.0-Documentation
Basic EditingType away! The built-in CityDesk editor works like any other Windows word processor. Here are some tips:
When you press Enter to create a new paragraph, you'll get a blank line between the paragraphs. To avoid the blank space, use Shift+Enter, which starts a new line without starting a new paragraph.
If you make a mistake, press use Ctrl+Z or choose Edit » Undo to undo it. This command may be repeated to go backwards in time. If you undid too much, use Ctrl+Y to redo what you just undid.
You can use the Windows clipboard to cut, copy, and paste text:
To cut text so that you can move it somewhere else, select the text, and then choose Edit » Cut.
To copy text so that you can duplicate it somewhere else, select the text, and then choose Edit » Copy.
To paste text that you have cut or copied, move the blinking insertion point where you want the new text, then choose Edit » Paste.
When you are copying formatted text into CityDesk, if you need to remove the formatting, use the Edit » Paste Without Formatting command instead.
Paste Without Formatting is helpful when the original text comes from a word processor and has fonts and colors that clash with the templates that you've established in CityDesk.
To remove all formatting, select the formatted text and choose Format » Remove Formatting.
To delete text, select it and press the Del key.
You can select all text at once by choosing Edit » Select All, or Ctrl+A on the keyboard.
Save your work frequently!
The File » Save command saves any changes you made in the CityDesk file, although it doesn't publish them to the web server. You can also use the Ctrl+S keyboard shortcut. (To save your changes and publish this article to the web server, use Save and Publish.)
When you have finished editing the article, you can click on the Save and Close tool or press Alt+S.
If you made mistakes and you do not want to save your changes, close the article window by clicking the small X button in the top right corner or pressing Alt+F4. A save prompt will appear. Click No.
