Previewing

To preview the current site in a web browser:

*  Choose File » Publish

*  From the list of publish locations, select Preview on this Computer.

*  To preview the site as it would appear today, choose the Publish for Today radio button. To preview the site as it would appear on another day, choose the Publish for radio button and enter a date.

Some articles in your site may not appear on all dates. (See Never Publish Before or After).

*  Click Publish

CityDesk will publish the site in a temporary directory on your hard drive.This directory is automatically deleted when CityDesk exits. If there are any errors, such as broken links or errors in CityScript code, they will appear in a box in the status window.

When everything is done, a button appears which lets you preview your site.

*  To see the site in Internet Explorer, click on the Internet Explorer button.

*  To see the site in another web browser or some other program which is installed on your computer, click on the arrow next to Internet Explorer and choose it from the list. If it does not appear, choose Configure Menu. This will allow you to edit a list of web browsers and other viewer programs. See Testing in Other Web Browsers.

Shortcut:

*  Click on the Preview tool in the main window:

This immediately begins previewing the site as it would appear today.

Previewing a single article:

To save time, if you only want to preview a single article and see how it looks with its template, open the article for editing and choose File » Save and Preview. SeeSave and Preview for details.
