What's New in the Latest Windows Version: 3.1.9
3.1.9 Changes 8/11/2003
- Improved BugzScout documentation and added article on gathering bug reports automatically with FogBugz.
- Changes to setup for Windows 2003 computers and IIS6
- FileUploads directory is now moved outside website root folder for more security
- Attachments without filenames are now shown correctly in FogBugz (normally happened with images pasted into emails)
- Unicode display when doing a bulk operation on cases, and public bug submissions fixed
- "PIF", "COM", and "SCR" added as dangerous extensions
- Focus now starts immediately in the description field
- ESC key is now disabled while editing a bug so people do not lose their bug reports by accident
- Emails from Dispatcho will always send a notification email, even if bug is already assigned to the correct user.
- If mail only contains HTML part, we will strip html tags from the message
- Disabled users cannot stay "logged on" after being disabled.
- Adding new users does not ignore active/inactive setting.
- Editing a bug with a fix-for that has been deleted will not change the current fix-for.
3.1.7 Changes 5/16/2003
- Significantly faster display, especially on bug list page.
- Priorities can contain strings in any language
- Runs on all national versions of Windows 2000 Server, including Asian languages.
- Fixed error forwarding certain email messages
- Forwarding an email message no longer prepopulates the To address
3.1.5 Changes 4/17/2003
- Case 7465: On XP machines, licensing would intermittently fail because Microsoft has a bug in their Crypto libraries. Instead of waiting for them to fix it, we rewrote the crypto code to not rely on their DLLs.
- Case 7560: There was a memory leak which left connections to the database open and would just let the dllhost.exe for the IIS server grow and grow. This has been fixed.
- Case 6646: Forwarding an email does not display error message (even though it previously worked, it would display an error).
- Encryption of passwords now uses unix-like encrypt instead of not-so-secure hashing algorithm. When you change your password after installing 3.1.5, it will convert to the new style.
- Minor fixes such as a display problem with captions in certain tables.
3.1.0 - Contains all minor update changes from 3.0 until 3.1 (2/7/2003)
3.0.5 Changes 11/13/2002
- Case 4307: ASP 0115 Errors "A trappable error (C0000005) occurred in an external object. The script
cannot continue running." should be fixed. This was caused by the GetComputerName function returning no computer name. (FIXED) - Case 4235: Select all appears, and crashes, when no bugs are in the filter. (FIXED)
- Case 4221: Changing the source control urls on the Site Configuration page did not actually change the urls. (FIXED)
- Case 4220: "Allow public submissions" option, not being set on when creating a new project. (FIXED)
- Case 4163: One installed valid license produces one extra user license which can be used for any account, not just built in Administrator account. (FIXED)
- Case 4135: Cannot assign bugs to other people if Javascript is disabled. (FIXED)
- Case 4131: Click "select all" in Mozilla: JavaScript error "bulkForm is not defined". (FIXED)
- Case 4125: French accent character in new release name didn't work. (FIXED)
- Case 4142: FogBugz assumes it was installed on port 80. (FIXED)
3.0.7 Changes 11/22/2002
Improvements to SETUP
- During upgrade, if the old directory can't be renamed because something is pinning it down, offer to install the upgrade in a new directory alongside the old one.
- Setup warns you if you are trying to run it from inside the FogBugz directory, which wouldn't work
- Setup warns you if you are have Norton Anti Virus installed, which is incompatible with FogBugz (and all ASP applications)
- Setup changes the default language of the FogBugz application (in IIS) back to VBScript if you had it set to JScript
- Warn IE6 users if they are accessing a server on the local intranet with _ or - in the NetBIOS name (which would prevent IE6 from accepting cookies)
- Warn people before stopping IIS
- Provide detailed error messages if unable to access the IIS metabase during Setup
- If Program Files is not on C: drive, figure out where it really is for the default install location
Performance Improvements
- Improved speed of bug lists on certain systems
Minor Bug Fixes
- If you had, e.g., both "Bug 4" and "Bug 404" in a single bug report, both would be made into hyperlinks for Bug 4. This has been fixed.
- Crash in CFileUpload line 741 if you went back to a page with a bug submission after your session timed out
- Do not attempt to submit a bug anonymously just because your session timed out
- Certain hyperlinks of the form http://server/?123, which work on IIS 5.0, do not work on IIS 4.0. Changed the hyperlinks to https://server/default.asp?123 which works everywhere. If you have IIS 5.0 (Windows 2000) you can still use the ultra-short version.
- Email notification uses CRLF instead of LF, so it is compatible with Lotus Notes
- Better crash handling if crash occurs during the last part of a bug submission
- "Subscribe" link didn't appear if you got to a bug by clicking "Next"
3.0.9 Changes 11/22/2002
- In 3.0.7, debugging logging code would crash if you had more than one FogBugz installation on a machine. This bug would only occur if you had edited the registry to turn on FogBugz debugging.
3.0.11 Changes 11/24/2002
- In 3.0.9, FogBugz would crash if you tried to send an email reminder to people with open bugs.
3.0.13 Changes 11/25/2002
- In 3.0.11, FogBugz would continue to ask for licenses even after you installed them.
3.0.15 Changes 2/1/2003
- Visual Source Safe integration
- MySQL integration
- Detect loops between FogBugz mailboxes and user accounts
- Do not show duplicate attachments in Bug Event when emailing an attachment
- Do not include entire email (including attachments) in FogBugz notifications
- CVS integration now works with CVSNT
- Search "Also search closed cases" was not working properly
- Search now remembers whether you were searching full text or titles when editing the search
- Warn IE6 users if there might be a problem logging in because of a hyphen or underscore int he machine name
- Memory leak in the dispatcho service when FogBugz was down
- "Sent by" remembered when editing a filter
- Notify subscribers when closing a bug
- Email without a return address could not be marked as SPAM
- Editing a closed bug assigns it to someone
- Search now works for localized characters in bugs submitted prior to 3.0
- Some email attachments were not being listed in the bug event
- Allow full text searching on Access backend even though it may be incredibly slow (must change fFullTextSearchOK flag to 1 in registry)
- Mail messages will never appear multiple times in FogBugz, if the FB server times out while submitting a message
- When you say No to "Do you really want to delete this mailbox?", we don't delete the mailbox.
3.0.17 Changes 2/7/2003
- In 3.0.15, FogBugz would complain about a connection not being able to be closed when new bugs were created. This only happened to new installations of FogBugz that were using Access as the backend.
- MySQL Full Text Searching did not work correctly.
- The "There is a new version" message would incorrectly show after restarting the web server.
