McAfee thinks FogBugz has a Trojan
Error Message:
Description:
McAfee is just wrong here. The file in question, logBugDataP4.vbs, has a few lines of VBS code that create a temp file on your machine, read Perforce information from that file, and then delete that file. McAfee sees these lines of code and decides it is proof of the presence of the VBS/Psyme trojan and deletes the file. No users of other anti-virus vendors such as Norton have reported any similar warnings.
Solution:
If you are not using the optional Perforce integration in FogBugz (or, say, if you have never heard of Perforce), you simply do not need the logBugDataP4.vbs file, so you can ignore this message. The file can be deleted or quarantined, that's fine.
If you do want to use Perforce integration, and you want to do so using this VBScript script rather than using this perl script, you may want to contact McAfee and find out if and how you can adjust the virus definitions to exclude this particular virus definition. If that is not possible, turn off real-time virus scanning and then run FogBugz setup. Copy logBugDataP4.vbs over to the Perforce server as described in the integration instructions. That article also provides a download link for the .vbs file, if you have already completed FogBugz setup you can download it from that page. You will not be able to run McAfee on the Perforce server because McAfee will kill the .vbs file again.
