Windows XP SP2 Makes FogBugz Inaccessible From Other Computers
Symptoms:
FogBugz was working fine on Windows XP. Then you installed the XP Service Pack 2 update. After installing the update, attempting to connect to FogBugz from another computer on the network fails.
Problem:
XP SP2 now includes a firewall. By default, that firewall blocks access to port 80.
Solution:
- Open the Network Connections control panel.
- Right-click on the connection marked Local Area Connection and choose Properties
- In the dialog which appears, go to the Advanced tab. You will see a section marked Windows Firewall. Click Settings to configure the Windows Firewall.
- A Windows Firewall dialog appears. Go into the Exceptions tab.
- Click Add Port...
- For the Name, type HTTP. For the Port number, type 80.
- Click OK to dismiss all the dialogs.
