Set Permissions on the FogBugz Folder

The Windows user account that FogBugz is using to access the web server must have full permissions on the C:\Program Files\FogBugz folder. This is done for you when you run FogBugz Setup, but if it is undone later by someone or something (e.g. security lockdown measures, IIS/Windows patches), here's how to set it manually:

  1. Right click on the FogBugz folder, which unless you specified something else is C:\Program Files\FogBugz, and choose Properties.
  2. Go to the security tab and make sure the FogBugz user is listed.
  3. Once it is listed, check the box for full control.
  4. IMPORTANT: Then, regardless of what state the permissions were in when you opened the dialog, you MUST click on the Advanced tab, and check the checkbox at the bottom of the dialog which says "Reset permissions on all child..." and then click APPLY.  Then hit OK and OK again to close out the dialog.
