Sales Person for FogBugz and Kiln Sales
The Job
Fog Creek has been selling FogBugz, its successful bug tracking and project management software, since 2002, and sales have grown steadily over the years. We're on the eighth version of FogBugz, and second version of Kiln, an integrated source control system that's been receiving a lot of favorable attention. FogBugz is an industry leading tool for software developers, but is also used in a wide variety of other industries and businesses.
We've added sales people to this effort recently, and we're looking for new great people to join the FogBugz sales team. You're likely to be self-directed and able to throw initiative at problems. You're also likely to be cheerful and keen to work with others. Relevant software sales or technology experience is likely to be very helpful, but not required. If you've ever written your own website, or you like to troll tech sites for fun, you might be the right kind of fit. You may even have been in some technical position before, but are ready for a change. We provide a base salary with an aggressive commission plan, plus benefits.
How We Operate
Our sales approach is strictly win-win: we don't want customers who aren't extremely happy with our products, and we expect 100% honesty and ethical behavior in everything we do. We have a strict policy of giving customers their money back if they are not completely satisfied.
Requirements
- 2 or more years of sales experience, preferably business to business.
- Demonstrated ability to generate prospects.
- Experience with phone sales.
- Experience with, and interest in, various facets of technology a plus.
- 4-year college degree.
- The position is in our office in New York City. No telecommuting.
Other Skills
- Strong command of written and spoken English
- Strong ability to work independently and use initiative in getting things done.
- Internally motivated with a strong sense of ethics and responsibility.
- People-oriented, positive and friendly on the phone, (and the rest of the time too!).
- Basic familiarity with business applications; email, MS Word, Excel, the web, etc.
