Sales Person for Stack Overflow Job Ads and Career/Resume Access Sales
The Job
Fog Creek, in collaboration with Jeff Atwood of Coding Horror, launched Stack Overflow last year which has quickly become the most popular developer resource on the web, drawing over 4 million visitors each month. Server Fault, targeted at system administrators, is the latest addition to the family. Fog Creek is continuing the expansion of the high-quality jobs board from the influential Joel on Software blog to Stack Overflow and Server Fault.
Our goal is to place high-quality technical job opportunities in front of one of the largest audience of developers on the web. We also sell employer access to a growing base of technical resumes. We're looking for highly-motivated, self-directed, and eager candidates to help grow this sales effort. Some technical experience or knowledge will probably be helpful, but is not required. We provide a base salary with an aggressive commission plan, plus benefits.

Responsibilities
- Prospect list creation.
- Outbound prospecting calls determining customer qualifications and needs.
- Track sales activity.
- Respond to customer inquiries.
- Build relationships with customers and follow-up consistently with prospects.
- Provide superb customer service.
- 2 or more years of sales experience, preferably business to business.
- Demonstrated ability to generate prospects.
- Experience with phone sales.
- Experience with, and interest in various facets of technology a plus.
- 4-year college degree.
Other Skills
- Strong command of written and spoken English
- Strong ability to work independently and use initiative in getting things done.
- Internally motivated with a strong sense of ethics and responsibility.
- People-oriented, positive and friendly on the phone, (and the rest of the time too!).
- Basic familiarity with business applications; email, MS Word, Excel, the web, etc.
