What's New In FogBugz 7.3.0
Released on May 10, 2010
FogBugz 7.3.0 is a significant upgrade for FogBugz 7. It addresses many of our most frequently mentioned customer requests.
- New Plugin: Case Event Edit. With this plugin enabled you can edit existing case notes to fix typos, modify bug descriptions, and more.
- New Feature: Bulk Reply. Now you can reply to multiple email cases at the same time with a slick preview of each email before sending.
- Upgraded Feature: Bulk Editing. FogBugz 7.3 has a dramatically improved bulk editing process. You can now scroll through specific data about each case being edited, remove cases from your bulk list during the edit process, and more.
- Upgraded Plugin: Project Backlog. The Project Backlog plugin has been significantly improved. A number of specific Project Backlog release notes follow below, or you can read our updated Project Backlog summary.
- IMAP Support. FogBugz mailboxes now support both IMAP and POP.
- Resizable Case View. You can customize the width of your FogBugz case view by dragging the lower right hand corner of your case. For those with extra screen real estate.
...and lots of smaller features and bug fixes...
- Assignees would not always receive notifications about new publicly created bugs. This has been fixed.
- Fixed Custom Fields and Project Backlog performance issues on FogBugz On Demand.
- Project Backlog: Ajax editing in grid view! Backlog values can now be modified in the grid view without requiring a page refresh between edits!
- Project Backlog: On upgrade to version 1.2 of the Project Backlog Plugin a database repair script will correct any corrupted backlog orderings in your database (negative values, duplicate values, etc.).
- Project Backlog: When viewing/editing a case with a backlog value there are now helping links for adding/moving a case to the top/bottom of the backlog. You can also modify the backlog order of a case when viewing it (i.e. without having to switch into edit mode).
- Project Backlog: The add/edit project backlog order dialog displayed in the grid view now includes additional information: the project the case belongs to and how many cases are in the backlog for that project.
- Project Backlog: Whenever the grid view is sorted by the Project Backlog column it is now implicitly sorted by Project first *and then* by backlog. This is because backlog values are per-project and can be confusing if not sorted by project first.
- Project Backlog: Fixed extra vertical spacing when displaying the Project Backlog column in the grid view. Rows with a backlog value should now be the same height as those without (verified in FireFox, Chrome, IE, Safari, & Opera).
- Project Backlog: All known bugs that could result in a corrupted backlog order (negative values, duplicate values, etc.) have been fixed.
- The "Admin" menu link no longer disappears when editing account information.
- Plugin API: The plugin API has been expanded and is now at version 3.5. Details are being added to developers.fogbugz.com.
