We've introduced a top-level search box to Kiln that searches through all of your repositories at the same time, and shows you the results from the repository that's most likely to have the results you're looking for. No matter where you are in Kiln, the thing you're looking for is only a few keystrokes away. And, if the repository that Kiln chooses for you doesn't have the results you need, it's a snap to browse the results from other repositories.

Search results automatically show you our "Best Bets" which includes all three types of results: Changesets, Filenames, and Code. That's right, Kiln searches inside your code! Quickly locating relevant checkins and code, even in the dark recesses of your projects, is incredibly simple.

If you know what you're looking for, and it doesn't appear in our "Best Bets", no problem. Just choose the result type you want, and we'll show you all of the results for that type.

Kiln offers several advanced search options that give you fine-tuned control over your search results. You can:

• Search in code for function/variable definitions and references. This isn't just simple text search. Our search engine recognizes 41 different programming languages.
• Constrain your changeset search a particular person or range of dates

Each advanced search option has a corresponding search axis that can be typed directly into the search box to speed up your use of search as you learn them.
